With mounting problems facing primary care doctors, a survey of physicians finds the shortage will only grow worse.
Primary care physicians are unhappy. They complain about the reams of paperwork they must do, worry about declining reimbursement, and sweat over the financial shambles of their practices. How bad is it? Well, 45 percent say they would retire today if they had the means and 60 percent would not recommend medicine as a career to young people, a survey for The Physicians Foundation finds.
