Presidential hopefuls through the first three quarters this year have raised an astounding $420 million, and the Center for Responsive Politics projects that figure could climb to $1 billion before the two major parties have their nominees. Democratic Senator Hillary Clinton of New York continues to lead the pack among all candidates with $90.9 million raised through Oct. 15. She’s followed by her Democratic rival Senator Barack Obama of Illinois ($80.3 million) and former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romeny ($62.8 million), who is seeking the Republican nomination. The charts below show how the candidates are faring in their fundraising efforts among the pharmaceutical/health products industry and among health professionals.
